Annual Lecture in Carmelite Studies

The event is free and open to the public.

The lecture will feature three scholars discussing St. John of the Cross, Carmelite saint and Doctor of the Church:

• “John of the Cross: From Disgraced Friar to Doctor of the Church”
  • Jodi Bilinkoff, Professor of History, Emerita, UNC Greensboro
• “John of the Cross and Anne of Jesus: An Apostolic Friendship”
  • Alison Weber, Professor of Spanish, Emerita, University of Virginia
• “A Visual Identity for St. John of the Cross: Gijón, Villalpando, and the Formation of Carmelite Iconography”
  • Christopher Wilson, Visiting Professor of Art History, George Washington University
